How to Plan a Letterbox Drop: A Week-by-Week Timeline

Oct 22, 2026

Plan a letterbox drop about four weeks before you want it in letterboxes if we’re printing your flyers, or two weeks if you’re supplying them. Most of that time goes on the flyer, not the delivery.

Here is the timeline we work to, using a delivery week that starts on a Tuesday. Every deadline is 12pm AEST, and public holidays can move a deadline earlier, so we always confirm your exact dates with your quote.

Four weeks out: areas, quantity and quote

  • Pick your areas. Start with the suburbs your customers come from. Every suburb page on this site shows how many homes it has and the nearest 10,000-home run around it.
  • Set the quantity. Our minimum run is 10,000 homes. Smaller suburbs are grouped with their neighbours to reach it.
  • Get a firm quote. Send us your suburbs, postcodes or an address and a radius, and we’ll send a firm quote within 6 hours.

Three weeks out: the flyer

If we’re printing, this is the week that matters most. The print booking closes on the Friday about two and a half weeks before your delivery week, and the artwork and print payment are due the following Monday or Tuesday.

  • Choose the size. DL and A5 suit most offers. A4 suits menus, catalogues and anything with a lot to say. See A4 vs DL vs A5.
  • Get the artwork print-ready. A PDF at the finished size with 3mm bleed. We check every file against the size you ordered and let you know if anything needs fixing.
  • Give it one clear offer and a deadline. See call-to-action examples that work.

Two weeks out: book the distribution

If you’re supplying your own flyers, the distribution booking closes on the Friday about a week and a half before your delivery week. Book from the link in your quote email: your areas and quantity are already filled in.

One week out: stock and payment

Your flyers need to be at our distribution warehouse, and the job paid, by the Monday or Tuesday the week before delivery. If we’re printing, the printer delivers them for you. If you’re supplying them, your booking confirmation has the warehouse address and how to pack and label the cartons.

Delivery week

Walkers deliver across the week that starts on the Tuesday. Homes with a No Junk Mail sticker are skipped, as the DSB Code of Practice requires. If you’d like proof of where the flyers went, ask for a GPS report once the run is finished.
